Sheikh Hasina resigned from the post of Prime Minister as a result of the mass uprising of students and fled to India. After this, many rumors started about her destination. Recently, the news spread that the former Prime Minister of Bangladesh left Delhi and went to the United Arab Emirates. A BBC report on Tuesday (October 8) said that Sheikh Hasina is still in India.
Reports that she has moved to a Middle Eastern country have been termed 'baseless' by top Indian government officials.
A BBC Bangla correspondent from Delhi said that he had spoken to several sources in the Ministry of External Affairs and Home Affairs of India. They confirmed, 'Sheikh Hasina is exactly the same this week as she was last week!'
India has never officially said where exactly she is in Delhi, but the 'location' has not changed at all in the last few days.
A senior source in Delhi's South Block told the BBC, "Whatever the circumstances, Sheikh Hasina is India's honored guest at the moment. If she goes to a third country later, there is no reason for us to hide it!'
Various discussions are going on in the last few days regarding the position of Sheikh Hasina. In this regard, the Foreign Adviser of the interim government of Bangladesh Tauhid Hossain on Monday told reporters, "We could not be sure about her (Sheikh Hasina) position."
