DMP Commissioner Sheikh Md. Sajjat Ali said that the price of daily necessities is increasing due to extortion, saying that the work of preparing a list of extortionists is underway in Dhaka city. The drive will start in two-three days by compiling the list.
He said these things at a view-exchange meeting held at the Diploma Engineers Institution in Kakrail in the capital on Saturday (December 21) with the police, students, public and citizens of Ramna Model Police Station area.
The DMP Commissioner said that the price of daily necessities is increasing due to extortion. Due to this, the lower and middle class people are suffering. Extortion must be stopped. A list of extortionists is being prepared. The arrests will start in two-three days by compiling the list. No one will extort. No one will be spared if they extort.
Stating that robbery has increased, the DMP Commissioner said that mobile phone robbery has increased in the capital. Everyone should be aware when going out on the streets.
Regarding the sidewalk hawkers, he said, evicting the hawkers at once is inhumane. However, he requested the hawkers to remain on the streets in a restrained manner. However, no one can be bribed from the hawkers.
Stating that action will be taken against excessive honking, he said, drivers keep honking their horns continuously in traffic jams. But what is the solution if they honk their horns in traffic jams? Action will be taken against those who repeatedly honk their horns soon.
Calling for following discipline, he said, motorcycles are risky vehicles. Two-three people on a motorcycle are very risky. We will bring the traffic system in Dhaka under discipline. Those who use the roads must follow discipline.
