Lebanon's Ministry of Health quoted the report as saying that Israel launched an airstrike along Lebanon's northern border on Monday. The attack was carried out after people were ordered to evacuate the area. So far, at least 492 people including women, children and two doctors have been killed. The dead also included 35 children. There are also many women and doctors. So far 1645 people have been injured.

The media also reported that thousands of Lebanese citizens were displaced.

Israel said it has hit about 300 targets in Lebanon. This is the biggest attack by the Israeli forces in the neighboring country since the conflict started on October 8 last year. The attacks targeted dozens of towns, including Binte Jbeil, Aitarun, Majdal Salem, Hula, Torah, Kalileh, Haris, Nabi Chit, Taraya, Shmester, Harbata, Libaya and Sohmore.

Meanwhile, Egypt's Foreign Ministry condemned the incident and called for "immediate intervention by international powers and the United Nations Security Council" to stop the attack.

Incidentally, Lebanon is the main base of Hezbollah, one of the world's largest armed Islamic political groups. The group has no representation in the country's government, but is the real controller of power. This group is supported by Iran.

Thousands of pagers and walkie-talkies used by members of Lebanon's armed political group Hezbollah exploded last week. More than 40 people were killed in the explosion in Lebanon; among them there are at least 16 members of Hezbollah. Hezbollah is largely responsible for the explosion on Israel.
