Kamala promises to stop the war in Gaza if she comes to power
Dhaka: The two presidential candidates for the US election, Donald Trump and Kamala Harris, are trying until the last minute to get the votes of Arab Americans. As part of that effort, Democratic candidate Kamala has also promised to stop the war in Gaza.
Al Jazeera reported this information in a report on Sunday (November 3).
The report said that Arab American voters in Michigan were angry with Kamala for her support for Israel. However, the Democratic candidate said this time, "This year has been difficult because of the level of death and destruction in Gaza and the civilian casualties and displacement in Lebanon."
On Sunday local time, Kamala told supporters at Michigan State University, "It (the Gaza war) is devastating and as president (if elected), I will do everything in my power to stop the Gaza war."
Despite promising to stop the war, the security of Israel also came up in Kamala's speech. She said, "I will work to bring back the hostages, end the suffering in Gaza, ensure the security of Israel and ensure that the Palestinian people realize their dignity, freedom, security and right to self-determination."
Although Kamala Harris had previously said that Israel has the "right to self-defense." In addition, several media outlets have mentioned that Kamala has said that she will continue the assistance that the Biden administration has been providing to Israel.
Kamala Harris has faced criticism several times before for supporting Israel.
