A Kolkata-bound Indian airline IndiGo flight made an emergency landing at Raipur airport in Chhattisgarh due to a bomb scare.

The flight made an emergency landing at Raipur airport on Thursday (November 14) morning. The Indian Express reported.

It is learnt that there were 187 passengers and six crew members on board the IndiGo flight.

Raipur Senior Superintendent of Police Santosh Singh said that the aircraft, which was flying from Nagpur to Kolkata, was diverted after the airport authorities received a threat. The aircraft landed at Raipur airport, the capital of Chhattisgarh, shortly after 9 am. Later, it was quickly taken to an isolated bay for security checks.

He also said that technical staff and bomb squad members are thoroughly examining the aircraft.
