The average life expectancy of Bangladesh people has increased

The average life expectancy of the people of the country has increased to 72.8 years. The average life expectancy of men is 71.2 years. The average life expectancy of women is 74.5 years. Statistics show that women are far ahead of men in this rate of increase in life expectancy.

The results of the 2020 survey conducted by the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS) were released on Monday (June 28). The survey was released by Planning Minister MA Mannan at the BBS office.

Earlier in 2019 this number was 72.6 years. In the previous year, that is, in 2018, the average life expectancy of the people of the country was 72.3 years.

According to a BBS report, the average life expectancy of women is higher than that of men. In 2020, the average life expectancy of men increased to 71.2 years and that of women to 74.5 years. Which was 71.1 years and 74.2 years in 2019 respectively.

According to the report, life expectancy has increased by an average of .24 years per year in the last five years. In other words, the average life expectancy has increased by one point two years in five years which has increased by nine decimal years for men and one decimal six years for women.

According to the survey, the population of the country is now 16 crore 82 lakhs. Of these, 8 crore 42 lakh are males, 8 crore 40 lakh women. The average size of ‘khana’ in the country is now 4.3 people. 98.3% of people are using drinking water. 81.5% have toilet facilities.

The report further states that the normal growth rate of the population is 1.30 percent. The previous year was 1.32 percent. In 2019 it was 1.33 percent. The population density has increased compared to the previous year. Now 1,140 people live in every square kilometer. Last year there were 1,125 people.
