Dhaka: Syeda Rizwana Hasan, Adviser on Forests, Environment and Climate of the Interim Government said that the rules and practices of whitening the black money will be stopped.

Syeda Rizwana Hasan said that this decision was made in the meeting of the Advisery Council of the interim government under the leadership of Dr. Muhammad Yunus on Thursday(August 29) at the State Guest House.

Asked when the process of whitening the black money can be stopped, he said, an explanation and analysis is being tried and it is through an order as it was said earlier that black money is going to be made white. It won't be said like that anymore.

Syeda Rizwana Hasan said that the law providing special security to the family members of the Father of the Nation was discriminatory, it has been repealed.

Stating that the work of reducing the amount of Hajj has started, this Adviser said that the ministry has started the work of reducing the cost of Hajj logically. Preliminary analysis shows that reductions are possible. The work to reduce it has started.

In the meeting, Rizwana Hasan also said that work has started to keep the price of essential products within the purchasing range of people. She said that the notes of what this interim government has done in one month of assuming office will be given to the journalists.

Stating that the interim government will continue to talk with the political parties, this Adviser said that opinions will be sought on state reform.

Dhaka: The Advisery Council has given final approval to repeal the 'Father of the Nation Family Members Security Act 2009' enacted for the protection of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's family members.

On Thursday (August 29) at the state guest house Jamuna in a meeting of the Advisery Council of the Interim government headed by Nobel laureate Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus finally approved the repeal of the law subject to vetting.

It has been informed that the 'Father of the Nation Family Members Security Act, 2009 (Act No. 63 of 2009) was formulated and promulgated as per the decision of the previous government. On May 15, 2015, a gazette was issued to provide special security and facilities under the Act. The Act was made to provide state special benefits to members of only one family which is a clear discrimination. After the anti-discrimination student uprising, the current interim government is committed to eliminating all discrimination.

After the formation of the Awami League government led by Sheikh Hasina in 2009 to provide security to Bangabandhu's family, the government enacted the 'Father of the Nation Family Members Security Act 2009'. Later the matter was included in the 'Special Security Force (SSF) Act-2021'. As a result, Bangabandhu's family members got the protection of special security forces under this law.

Apart from this, to ensure the safety of Bangabandhu's family members, this Act has an obligation to provide safe and secure housing and other necessary facilities for each member. 

Dhaka: The Chief Adviser Dr. Muhammad Yunus has signed the International Convention on the Protection of Citizens from Enforced Disappearance.

He signed the Charter of the International Convention for the Protection of Citizens from Enforced Disappearance at the weekly meeting of Advisers on Thursday (August 29).

In this regard, the Chief Adviser said, our action on the eve of the International Day for the Prevention of Missing Persons will be a historic moment.

He also said that a Commission has been formed to investigate every incident of enforced disappearance through the security forces during Sheikh Hasina's 15-year dictatorial regime.

It is to be noted that the meeting of the Advisers of the Interim government is going on today at the State Guest House Jamuna. This meeting which started at 11 am  ended at 2:30 pm. After the meeting, Adviser Syeda Rizwana Hasan briefed the journalists in front of Jamuna.

From Feni: pages of books scattered around. Eighth grade student Bibi Maryam is sitting on the carpet wearing a floral kameez and a red veil on her head. From a distance, it looks like the little girl is busy with her homework in the yard. However, Maryam is drying her wet dreams without work.

Although there is despair for the houses submerged in the flood water, Maryam has a determination embedded deep in her heart to win the dream. As a result, he is strengthening her resolve by rubbing her hand over the pages of the wet book. Where education is uncertain, Maryam weaves dreams on the pages of dilapidated books.

Maryam's house was submerged in the ongoing flood since August 22. Their beloved cow drowned in water. Notebooks, pens and books were drowned along with other things in the house. When the water was up to her neck, she wanted to go out with the book. However, Maryam did not have that opportunity. She took her sick father and went to a safe haven with her mother. After 7 days I got the books back home but most of them were lost.

Saying that everything is over at home, student Maryam said, I will grow up to be an artist. That's why I have to read. I have to fulfill my dreams. So the dream is drying up. I will read the torn books together.

Maryam's house in Nangalmora Union of Feni’s Chagalnaya Upazila. She has a family of parents, two younger brothers and sisters.

Maryam's mother said that Maryam had a keen interest in studies since childhood. Her dreams were washed away by the flood water. She suffered a lot. The little girl also suffered.

Meanwhile, like Maryam, at least lakhs of students' books have been washed away in the flood water. Some could not save their dreams despite fighting against the tide. Now these students are in an extreme crisis. Education has become uncertain

In this regard, Feni Deputy Commissioner Musammat Shahina Akhtar said that schools and affected students have been ordered to list. Necessary action will be taken.
