Jhenaidah-4 (Kaliganj) Constituency Member of Parliament Anwarul Azim Anar was systematically killed while staying at a house in Kolkata, India. He was killed in the conspiracy of his childhood friend and business partner Akhtaruzzaman Shaheen.

An officer of the Detective Branch(DB) of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police gave such information on Wednesday (May 22).

According to DB sources, Akhtaruzzaman, a United States citizen of Bangladeshi origin, assigned the task of killing MP Anar to hired killers in a deal worth Tk. five crore.

At the root of which is a terrorist named Amanullah Aman performed the assignment.

He is a resident of Jhenaidah and a US citizen. Shaheen's brother is the Mayor of Kotchandpur Pourashava in Jhenaidah. Another friend and extremist leader, Amanullah Aman, was tasked with planning and executing this murder. Shaheen came to Bangladesh after drawing the final tableau of the murder sitting in Kolkata. Later, six people including Aman called MP Anar by trapping him in a flat called Sanjiba Garden. He was then taken hostage and killed by burying a pillow. Later, the body was cut into pieces and put in a trolley bag at an unknown location.

Talking to the investigation officials, it is known that Aktaruzzaman Shaheen wanted to pay Tk. 5 crore to kill Anar. He was paid some money before the murder. The rest of the money was supposed to be paid after the murder. After the success of their mission, Aman came to Dhaka with the task of Siam and Jihad to hide the pieces of Anar's body. He came to Dhaka and met Aktaruzzaman Shaheen. However, it is not known how much money Shaheen gave him later.

Wari Division of Dhaka Metropolitan Police has arrested three people on suspicion of involvement in this murder. They are Amanullah Aman, Mostafiz and Faisal, leader of the extremist party East Bengal Communist Party, who directly participated in the murder.

Five crore contract

In the interrogation of the DB, Aman said that Aktaruzzaman Shaheen wanted to pay Tk. 5 crore to kill MP Anwarul Azim Anar. He was paid some money before the murder. The rest of the money was supposed to be paid after the murder.

DB said that Aman was hiding in his sister's house in Mohammadpur after coming to Dhaka. He was arrested from there.

Murder plans and women's traps

Last April 30 extremist leader Aman went to Kolkata with his girlfriend Silisti Rahman. There, they moved to a duplex flat in Sanjiba Garden, Newtown area, which had been rented in advance. Shaheen's two associates Siam and Jihad were already staying in Kolkata. Sitting there, they plan to kill MP Anar.

Shaheen returned to the country on May 10, explaining the full responsibility of the murder to Aman. As planned, Aman took two more hired killers from Bangladesh to Kolkata. Two hired killers named Faisal Shaji and Mostafiz went to Kolkata on May 11 and joined Aman.

Process of killing

According to the information obtained during the interrogation of Aman, the intelligence officers(DB) said that Shaheen already knew that MP Annar would go to Kolkata on May 12. He asked his gang to make all preparations to kill him. They also collect multiple chapatis.

On May 12, Anar went to Kolkata through the Darshana border at Chuadanga. On the first day he stayed at his friend Gopal's house. The next day on May 13, MP Anar was called to the flat in Newtown by the killers.

In the afternoon, MP Anar entered the flat in Sanjiba Garden. Aman along with his accomplices Faisal, Mustafiz, Siam and Jihad held the MP hostage. Meanwhile, they also asked the MP to pay the money owed by Shaheen. At one stage of the argument about the matter, everyone killed Anar by holding him with a pillow. After the murder, Aman told the matter to Shaheen.

The body is dismembered

According to the information given by Aman, the intelligence officers said that the body was cut into pieces to disappear as suggested by Shaheen. Then two big trolley bags and polythene were brought from the shopping mall near the flat. Carcass pieces of MP Anar were wrapped in polythene and packed in trolley bags. On the night of the incident, two trolley bags containing the body parts were kept at the house. In between, they brought bleaching powder from outside and cleaned the blood stains in the house.

The concerned said that the Kolkata Police has collected the footage of all the CCTV cameras of the flat and the surrounding buildings. Analyzing the CCTV footage, Aman and his accomplices were seen bringing and taking the trolley bags and taking the shoes kept outside by MP Anar inside. Besides, there is a scene of Shaheen's girlfriend named Silisti Rahman bringing polythene and bleaching powder from outside in the CCTV footage.

The body parts were put in trolley bags

Analyzing Aman's confession and CCTV footage during the initial interrogation, Aman left the house with a trolley bag in the afternoon after the murder.

During interrogation, he told the police that he left the house and handed over the trolley bag to Siam in front of a nearby shopping mall. Siam took the bag and left for an unknown location in their pre-rented car. However, the driver told the Kolkata Police that Siam got down from the car with the bag after going some distance.

The body parts were in another bag. The bad smell also started emanating from that bag. Aman came to Dhaka with Silisti on May 15, instructing his associates to drop the bag elsewhere.

Intelligence officials said that after the murder, according to Aman's instructions, two of his associates took the two mobile phones used by MP Anar and went in both directions, as if they were investigators or law enforcers confused about Anar's location. Mustafiz returned to Bangladesh on May 17 and Faisal on May 18.

Officials related to the investigation said that Aktaruzzaman Shaheen came to Dhaka on May 10 after planning the murder. When the issue of MP Anwarul Azim's disappearance was discussed in the country, he again left for Nepal via India on May 18. He left Nepal on May 21 for Dubai. On May 22, he crossed from Dubai to the United States.

Money sharing in gold smuggling behind the murder

The brutal killing of MP Anwarul Azim Anar is suspected to be due to a dispute over the sharing of gold smuggling proceeds. Aktaruzzaman Shaheen himself is a gold smuggler. MP Anwarul Azim is also accused of gold smuggling. Shaheen and Azim have a joint business in Kolkata. According to the people involved, the murder was done by sharing the huge money of gold smuggling.

Meanwhile, a case has been registered at the Sher e- Bangla Nagar police station in the capital regarding the murder of Anwarul Azim Anar in India. Case number-42. His daughter Mumtarin Ferdous Doreen filed a complaint in the case on Wednesday (22 May) evening.

He said that Mumtarin Ferdous Doreen, daughter of MP Anwarul Azim Anar, has filed a murder case. No accused has been named in the case. But now the accused will be brought under the law after investigation.
