Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan said that no one involved in arson will be spared. The arsonists will be identified and brought to justice.

He said these things in the Chief Guest's speech at an exchange meeting with the law and order forces at Rangpur Shilpakala Academy auditorium on Thursday (July 25).

The Home Minister said, we people of Bangladesh were surprised and shocked. We were puzzled how a Bengali could do this (destruction)! Later it seems that this Bengali killed the greatest Bengali ever. These Bengalis have killed many of our leaders and activists. This incident reminds us of everything. But whoever the arsonists are, no one will be spared. Until the vandals are identified, our law enforcement operations will continue.

He further said, however, the country's law and order forces did not allow them to implement their plan. We must be vigilant. We are a nation of heroes. We made the country independent in 1971 with the slogan 'Joy Bangla' without arms.

The minister said that the Prime Minister is a very prudent and far-sighted person. The Prime Minister will take action on the sabotage that took place in Rangpur, who is behind it and who provided the money.

Addressing the local Awami League leaders and activists, Asaduzzaman Khan said that it is not acceptable to sleep with your hands in your pockets. They will take the opportunity to enter the house and kill. We couldn't do what we were supposed to do.

At the beginning of the meeting, Deputy Commissioner Mobaswer Hasan highlighted the damage and overall situation in Rangpur due to violence through a multimedia projector. In this, the total damage in Rangpur is shown to be Tk. 11 crore. Besides, it is reported that 182 people have been arrested by the law enforcement forces so far for their involvement in arson attacks.

Earlier, Home Minister and IGP Chowdhury Abdullah Al Mamun visited the public and private establishments affected by arsonists in Rangpur. Former Commerce Minister and Rangpur-4 Constituency Member of Parliament Tipu Munshi along with senior officers of Police, RAB, BGB and Army and officials of departmental and district administration were present.
