There was no dearth of enthusiasm and joy of the devotees around the arrival and departure of the goddess for the past few days. However, on the day of farewell, the fans' hearts were full of sadness and tears in their eyes. They believe that Devi Durga leaves Kailash every autumn and comes to mortal world as a daughter. Between her 'arrival and departure', the festival lasts for five days from the sixth to the tenth tithi of the Shukla Paksha of the month of Ashwin.
