Foreign Secretary Md. Jasimuddin held a meeting with Prannoy Verma, High Commissioner of India appointed in Dhaka. Prannoy Verma said that there was no discussion about former Prime Minister of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina in the meeting.

After the meeting held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Sunday (October 20) afternoon, the High Commissioner of India said that today's meeting is part of the regular meeting on our relations. We discussed the security and development of the two countries. Our relationship is positive. We believe that our relationship will contribute to the welfare of the people of both countries.

In response to another question, Prannoy Verma said that there was no specific discussion on the Sheikh Hasina issue.

He said that India is dependent on Bangladesh and Bangladesh is dependent on India. The relationship of interdependence needs to be taken further.

Regarding the joint consultative meeting between Bangladesh and India, the High Commissioner said, we want to hold Foreign Office Consultation (FOC) soon.

Prannoy Verma, the country's High Commissioner assigned to Bangladesh, said that the process of granting travel visas to India is not normal. Prannoy Verma said that travel visas to India are not normal for Bangladeshis as the manpower is still low. However, emergency visas for medical and educational purposes are limited.

Foreign Secretary Md. Jasimuddin about the meeting said that the two countries are working to strengthen and normalize the relationship of mutual dependence.

India has stopped issuing travel visas to Bangladeshi citizens for two and a half months. After the fall of Sheikh Hasina's government on August 5, the country's visa application centers in Bangladesh were announced to be closed indefinitely citing the unstable situation.

BNP Vice Chairman Shamsuzzaman Dudu said that the interim government and the opposition parties should be careful, not only inside the country but also from abroad. If fascism comes again, then I do not want to worry about what will happen to the democratic people of this country.

He said these things at a discussion meeting titled "Organized National Elections - Civic Thoughts, National Dialogue" organized by the Desh Bachao Manush Bachao Andolan at Nasrul Hamid auditorium of Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU) on Sunday (October 20).

Shamsuzzaman Dudu said, we have supported this government to do good work. Reforms should be done where necessary to provide a fair election but within a certain period.

He said, I don't think any good work can be carried forward without a politically elected government. Those who are in the current government are people from different professions who have come for a good job. We told them about the election. That means the election will be held tomorrow but to be specific. That's why we talked about the election road map.

For the purpose of the interim government, this vice chairman of BNP said, Sheikh Hasina was the head of fascism. She ran away, her ministers also ran away. Her staff who are in administration are the same as before. Secretaries are also like that. As far as I can see, the ACC has not changed. Sheikh Hasina is where she has set up. There must be a difference between the previous government and the current government. There is a difference between fascism and democracy. The previous government was fascist and the current government is democratic.

Dudu said that the syndicate of daily necessities is the previous syndicate. They are controlling the source of goods. So where is the change? This syndicate must be broken. There can be no syndicate here.

Former Prime Minister's son Sajib Wazed Joy has repeatedly claimed that Sheikh Hasina did not resign. Army Chief General Waqar-uz-Zaman announced the resignation of the former Prime Minister in front of the media.

The question is, if the Prime Minister has resigned, then where did it go? No one has an answer to this question. I searched it for three weeks. I have also searched in the cabinet division where the president, prime minister and ministers should have resignation letter. Nowhere. Finally, I met President Md. Sahabuddin at Bangabhaban. He greeted me with great sincerity.

During Sheikh Hasina's tenure, Bangabhaban was forbidden for me. sir, how are you? Brother, you don't call me sir. We both came to journalism together. I was in Pabna and you were in Dhaka. Both of them worked in Banglar Bani. Reminiscing old memories took the place of emotions for a long time. Naturally, I asked, do you have the resignation letter of the former Prime Minister? I heard he resigned. But I don't have any documentary evidence. I have failed despite many attempts. He might not have time. At 10:30 am on August 5, Bangabhaban received a call from the Prime Minister's residence. It is said that the honorable Prime Minister will come to Bangabhaban to meet His Excellency the President. After hearing this, preparations started in Bangabhaban. Within an hour the call came that she was not coming.

The President said, there was news of unrest all around. I don't know what's going to happen. I could’t sit around depending on rumors. So I asked Military Secretary General Adil to inquire. He has no news either. We were waiting I was also watching the television scroll. No news anywhere. At one point I heard that she left the country. She didn't tell me anything. I told you what is true. Anyway, when Army Chief General Waquer came to Bangabhaban, I tried to find out whether the Prime Minister resigned or not? Same answer. I heard she resigned. It seems that she did not have time to tell. When everything came under control, one day the Cabinet Secretary came to collect the copy of the resignation letter. I told him, I am also looking. At one point, the President said, there is no more debate about this. It is true that the Prime Minister has left. Still, I have taken the opinion of the Supreme Court so that this question never arises.

Following the reference sent by the President, the Appellate Division headed by Chief Justice Obaidul Hasan gave their opinion on this on August 8. It said that an interim government may be formed to fill constitutional vacuums in situations that may arise and to carry out the executive functions properly. The Appellate Division opined that the President can administer the oath to the Chief Adviser and Advisory Council of the Interim Government.

Earlier, Sheikh Hasina resigned and fled to India in the face of student protests. She was staying there. The Government of India issued her a travel document as her passport had expired. With that she can go to any other country. However, there has been a smokescreen over her political asylum. It is said that the United Arab Emirates is not agreeing to grant her asylum due to security reasons. Qatar and Saudi Arabia have already declared ineligibility. Belarus was mentioned in the beginning. Why it did not happen is still unknown.

Hasina was not allowed to speak----

The fallen Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina had expressed her desire to address the radio-television moments before fleeing. She said - she will talk for a short time, not long. But Sheikh Hasina did not get that opportunity due to the environmental situation and the reluctance of the Army Chief. Then she was told that people had gathered around. Everyone is ferocious. They can reach Gonobhaban in no time. She cannot be given that opportunity for her safety. Hasina was upset, angry. But there was nothing to do. She prepared a draft of the speech. According to various sources, she wanted to say that she was being forced to leave the country not by her will. She also wanted to inform the countrymen who and which foreign power wanted to overthrow her government. There was also talk about the development of the country during her rule. From morning to afternoon, negotiations were going on at this time. Repeated calls came from New Delhi. It was being said that the security of the Prime Minister should not be disturbed. Interestingly, Delhi was told by Dhaka to send an aircraft to take Hasina away. Delhi did not respond to that request. She was then sent to Delhi in a C-130 aircraft of the Air Force on Bangladesh's own initiative. There were two others in the plane carrying Hasina. Her younger sister Sheikh Rehana and security advisor Tariq Ahmed Siddique.

Law adviser Asif Nazrul said that the High Court will take action on the accused judges from now on.

Asif Nazrul said in response to the questions of the journalists that there are various allegations against some judges, the accused judges have become oppressive instruments of the fascist forces. Some are also accused of corruption. There is a lot of anger among the students about them. He said, as the Supreme Judicial Council was revived, there was an opportunity to resolve those issues constitutionally. However, the High Court is completely independent, so their action will be taken by the High Court. The law adviser said, by upholding the verdict of repealing the 16th Amendment, the forum for ensuring accountability has got an opportunity to be revived.

Earlier, the Appellate Division disposed of the review petition for the repeal of the Sixteenth Amendment of the Constitution. In this, the power to remove judges has been retained in the Supreme Judicial Council.

Commenting this verdict as positive, Asif Nazrul said that the accountability of the High Court judges will be ensured. There are many complaints about some judges. They became oppressive instruments of fascist power. Some are also accused of corruption. There is a lot of anger among the students about them. Therefore, the Supreme Judicial Council can take the removal initiative if it receives any complaint regarding their removal.

He also said, now that the Supreme Judicial Council has been revived, there has been an opportunity to resolve those issues constitutionally. However, the High Court is completely independent, so their action will be taken by the High Court.
