Four killed in train crash
Lalmonirhat: Four people died after being hit by a train in Baura Alauddin Nagar area of Patgram in Lalmonirhat.
The accident took place near Baura Alauddin Nagar outpost station of the upazila on Monday (November 11) evening.
The deceased are Azizar Rahman (65), Mubarak Hossain (55), Maqbul Hossain (45) of Islam Nagar village of Zongra union of Patgram upazila and Abdul Wahab (42) of Mominpur village of the same union.
According to local sources, four people were sitting on the railway track near Alauddin Nagar station area around Monday evening and playing Ludo. They died on the spot when they were hit by the Shantahar-bound Karatoya Express train leaving Burimari land port. This incident cast a shadow of mourning on the area.
Confirming the matter, Patgram Station Master Noor Alam said, I heard that the locals have taken their bodies home. He said that the Lalmonirhat Railway Police Station has been informed about this.
Al Momen, the in-charge sub-inspector of Lalmonirhat railway outpost, said that four people died when the railway line was cut at around 5:30 in the evening. Why they sat on the line can be investigated.
