The Appellate Division has stayed the decision to appoint a receiver in Salman F. Rahman's Beximco Pharmaceuticals Limited. However, the order states that the High Court's order to appoint receivers in other companies of the Beximco Group will remain in effect.

A three-judge bench headed by Justice Ashfaqul Islam gave the order on Tuesday (November 12).

Beximco Pharma's lawyer Mostafizur Rahman Khan said that the court has directed the division bench headed by Justice Farah Mahbub of the High Court to issue the rule issued on the appointment of a receiver within two weeks.

Earlier, on September 5, the High Court issued the order along with the rule in response to a writ petition. It directed Bangladesh Bank to attach all the properties of the Beximco Group and appoint a receiver to manage the group's companies for six months. At the same time, Bangladesh Bank was ordered to recover money taken by Beximco Pharmaceuticals Limited founder Salman F. Rahman from various banks and to bring back money sent abroad.
