High Court directs to take effective steps to control dengue
The High Court has directed to take effective steps across the country, including the capital Dhaka, to control dengue. The local government secretary, health secretary, and the two city corporations of Dhaka have been asked to implement the instructions and submit a report to the court within 30 days.
A High Court bench comprising Justice Fahmida Quader and Justice Mubina Asaf gave the order on Tuesday (November 12).
The court also ordered the formation of a high-powered committee to adopt a long-term plan to control dengue. The committee has been asked to include experts. In addition, the court has issued a rule asking why the failure of the government's concerned authorities to control dengue should not be declared illegal.
Barrister Mahin M Rahman heard the writ petition in court.
Earlier, Barrister Mahin M Rahman filed a writ petition in the High Court last week seeking instructions to control dengue throughout the country.
