Law enforcement agencies on alert for security of chief adviser
Dhaka: After the tension between the two factions of the Tabligh Jamaat, Maulana Saad and the supporters of Zubair, the Saad supporters have secured their position and offered the holy Friday prayers on the surrounding roads including the Kakrail Mosque. Meanwhile, to prevent chaos after the prayers, law enforcement agencies have taken a cautious position to ensure the security of the interim government's chief adviser Dr. Muhammad Yunus.
On Friday (November 15), the Muslims present prepared for the prayers at the capital's Kakrail Mosque since before 12 noon. Then the prayers began after the sermons of the imams present. As soon as the prayers ended, law enforcement agencies were on alert on the road leading to the residence of the interim government's chief adviser Dr. Muhammad Yunus.
Earlier in the morning, tensions again prevailed between the two factions of the Tabligh Jamaat, Maulana Saad and the supporters of Zubair. One side is desperate to take over the Markaz Mosque in Kakrail by pushing the other side away.
In the meantime, Saad supporters have taken up positions in front of the Markaz Mosque in Kakrail on Friday (November 15) morning. The Saad supporters entered the mosque after 8 am that day.
At that time, Saad followers have been sitting on the streets in several surrounding areas including the Chief Justice’s residence, Public Health Engineering Department, VIP Road, and in front of the Kakrail Mosque.
It is known that the conflict between the two sides first took an open form in November 2017. That day, a scuffle broke out between two groups of workers in Kakrail. Due to the extreme dispute, for the past 7 years, the Zubayer supporters have been conducting their activities in one part of the Kakrail Mosque for 4 weeks and the Saad supporters for two weeks in a row.
However, the Zubayer supporters have been occupying the other part of the mosque for 12 months. The Saad supporters alleged that the Zubayer supporters, supported by Hefazat, have been enjoying more benefits during the Awami League government. The dispute between the two sides over the Tongi Bishwa Ijtema venue is also intensifying day by day.
