Government created employment for 86277 people in 100 days

The interim government has created employment for 86 thousand 277 people in 100 days, Youth and Sports Secretary Md. Rezaul Maqsud Zahedi said, initiatives have been taken to create five lakh jobs within the next 2 years.

He said, now the number of unemployed in the country is 1 crore 8 lakh. Out of this, 26 lakh are graduates.

The Youth and Sports Secretary gave this information at a press conference regarding the progress of the 100-day activities of the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Ministry of Labor and Employment on Sunday (November 17).

Asif Mahmud Sajib Bhuiyan, Adviser to Youth and Sports Ministry was present at this time. On November 10, Asif Mahmud was given the responsibility of the Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives instead of the Ministry of Labour.

The Secretary said, under the Directorate of Youth Development, a target of institutional and non-institutional training of 2 lakh 64 thousand 80 people has been set in the financial year 2024-2025 with the aim of engaging in public and private work and self-employment. 19 thousand 452 people have been trained in the last 100 days and currently 52 thousand 115 youth are undergoing training.

He said that in the last 100 days, the Ministry of Public Administration, Ministry of Labor and Employment, Department of Information and Communication Technology, BPSC, Ministry of Youth and Sports, Ministry of Women and Child Affairs have created 86 thousand 277 new jobs in the revenue and project sector. Out of this, the government has created employment for 2 thousand 468 people in the revenue sector and 83 thousand 809 people in the project sector (self-employed and entrepreneurs).

The secretary also said that the government has set a target of 5 lakh employment creation in two years.

Rezaul Maqsud Zahedi said that 2 thousand 100 people have been trained in seven batches in traffic management and social awareness training courses. Out of this 710 people have been trained. Among the trained trainees, 231 have been appointed as Traffic Police Assistant Police and the remaining recruitment process is ongoing.
