Former Mirpur DC Jasim, four police officers suspended
The government has suspended four police officers including the former Deputy Police Commissioner (DC) of Mirpur division of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP).
The remaining three officers who were suspended are former Additional Deputy Police Commissioner (ADC) of Gulshan division Md. Rafiqul Islam, Assistant Police Commissioner (AC) of Traffic-Jatrabari Zone Tanjil Ahmed and Assistant Superintendent of Police of APBN Md. Rafiqul Islam.
The temporary suspension order was published on Tuesday (December 10) from the Police-1 branch of the Public Security Division of the Ministry of Home Affairs.
This information was given in four separate notifications signed by Senior Secretary Dr. Mohammad Abdul Momen in a notification issued by the President.
The notification said that former DMP DC and currently attached to the Rangpur Range DIG office Md. Jasim Uddin Molla was arrested on charges of crimes under the International Crimes Tribunal Act. He was arrested from Rangpur on October 30.
Therefore, Md. Jasim Uddin Molla has been suspended from government service from October 30 as per the provisions of Section 39 (2) of the Government Services Act, 2018 (Act No. 57 of 2018). However, he will be entitled to subsistence allowance as per the rules of temporary suspension.
The notification of former ADC of Gulshan Division Md. Rafiqul Islam said that he was arrested on October 18 in a case filed by Badda Police Station and sent to court. Md. Rafiqul Islam has been suspended from government service from October 18 as per the provisions of Section 39 (2) of the Government Services Act, 2018 (Act No. 57 of 2018). Rafiqul Islam, who is temporarily suspended, will be attached to the office of the DIG of the Chattogram Range and will receive subsistence allowance as per the rules.
The notification of Traffic-Jatrabari Zone AC Tanjil Ahmed said that he was arrested on October 15 in a case filed by Jatrabari Police Station and sent to the court. Tanjil Ahmed has been temporarily suspended from government service from October 15 as per the provisions of Section 39 (2) of the Government Services Act, 2018 (Act No. 57 of 2018). Tanjil Ahmed, who is temporarily suspended, will be attached to the office of the DIG of the Barishal Range and will receive subsistence allowance as per the rules.
The notification of APBN Assistant Superintendent of Police Md. Rafiqul Islam said that he was arrested on September 13 in a case filed by Hathazari Model Police Station and sent to the court. He has also been suspended from government service with effect from September 13 under the provisions of Section 39(2) of the Government Services Act, 2018 (Act No. 57 of 2018). Rafiqul Islam will be attached to the office of the Mymensingh Range DIG during the period of suspension and will be entitled to subsistence allowance as per the rules.
