Two cars collide on Dhaka-Mawa Expressway, 1 dead
One person was killed in a two-car collision on the Dhaka-Mawa Expressway today due to dense fog. Five people were injured in the incident.
The accident occurred in Sirajdikhan Upazila of Munshiganj early on Monday (December 23).
Deputy Assistant Director of Munshiganj Fire Station Md. Shafiqul Islam confirmed this information.
It is learned that a private car lost control and hit the railing of Dhaleshwari-2 Bridge in the Kuchiamora area of Sirajdikhan Upazila of Munshiganj on the Dhaka-Mawa Expressway in dense fog. At that time, a covered van behind it hit the car that lost control. A woman in the private car was killed and five others, including the driver, were injured. The fire service rescued them and sent them to the hospital. Traffic flow returned to normal after the police removed the two vehicles involved in the accident.
Deputy Assistant Director of Munshiganj Fire Station Md. Shafiqul Islam said the accident occurred due to reckless speeding and dense fog on the Dhaka-bound lane of the expressway on the way from Mawa to Dhaka.
