Fireworks and lanterns set off fires in several places in the capital
Fires have been set off in several places in the capital due to fireworks and lanterns set off on the occasion of the English New Year celebration.
The fire service said that fires broke out behind LabAid in Mirpur, Dhanmondi in the capital, in a dustbin in Mirpur and in a shop in Dhanmondi.
The fire was extinguished before the fire service arrived in Mirpur. On the other hand, two units of the fire service are going to the spot to bring the fire under control in Dhanmondi.
On Tuesday (January 1) night, Rafi Al Faruk, duty officer of the fire service control room, confirmed this information.
He said that news came at night that a fire broke out in a dustbin in the Mirpur 11 area. Later, when two units of the fire service left for the spot, it was reported that the fire was extinguished. On the other hand, at 12:53 am, we received news that a fire broke out in a shop behind LabAid in Dhanmondi in the capital. Two of our units are on their way to the scene. However, the cause of these two fires is not initially known. However, eyewitnesses to these two fires said that the fires were caused by fireworks being set off across the capital on the occasion of Thirty-First Night.
