The 29th edition of the Dhaka International Trade Fair will end today, Friday (January 31).
Sheikh Bashiruddin, the interim government's commerce adviser, will officially announce the closing of the fair at 4 pm on Friday (January 31).
Although the vendors demanded an extension of the time by one day at the last minute as the fair was packed, the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) did not decide to extend it this time.
Earlier, on January 1, the fair was inaugurated at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Exhibition Center in Purbachal by the interim government's chief adviser Dr. Muhammad Yunus.
It is worth noting that the trade fair had been organized in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar in the capital from 1995 to 2020 under the joint initiative of the Ministry of Commerce and EPB with the aim of promoting, expanding, marketing and supporting the production of domestic products. The fair was not organized in 2021 due to the Corona pandemic. And amid the pandemic restrictions, the fair was organized for the first time in 2022 at BBCFEC in Purbachal.
