Dhaka: The 'Amar Ekushey Book Fair 2025' organized by Bangla Academy with the theme 'July Mass Uprising, Building a New Bangladesh' was inaugurated by the Chief Adviser of the Interim Government, Dr. Muhammad Yunus.

He inaugurated this traditional book fair on the premises of Bangla Academy on Saturday (February 1) afternoon. At the time, the 'Bangla Academy Literary Award-2024' was presented to the winners. This time, seven writers were given this award.

The Chief Adviser said that this year's book fair has been organized in a new way in the spirit of July. Ekushey is the identity of our core being, Ekushey means awakening, Ekushey is our strong bond. He also said that the pull of Ekushey has spread from generation to generation. An example of which is the July Mass Uprising.

Cultural Affairs Adviser Mostafa Sarwar Farooqui was present as a special guest at the event. He said Bangla Academy has provided opportunities for young writers to read books and do research. However, Bangla Academy should focus on all-round research.

Bangla Academy President Professor Abul Kashem Fazlul Haque presided over the inaugural ceremony. During this, he sought cooperation from the interim government to make the book fair a success.
