Former IGP and parliamentarian Nur Mohammad has demanded transparency in the promotion and recruitment to restore people's confidence in the police force.

He said the police force is now one of the most discussed and criticized institutions in the country. Transparency in recruitment, promotion and professionalism should be brought back.  . Only then the police of the people will become a symbol of confidence and trust.

Ex police boss Nur Mohammad told all theses while delivering his speech on President’s address in the session chaired by deputy speaker Md. Fazle Rabbi Mia on Tuesday(Feb.11) night in the Jatiyo Sangsad.


Nur Mohammad said police play a vital role in protecting the law and order ensuring security of the people. Law and order situation is a prerequisite for economic development. Professionalism and transparency should be brought to recruitment, promotion and postings. Only then police will become the symbol of confidence and trust.
