After finishing the work of the necessary reforms very quickly, BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir expects the Interim government led by Dr. Yunus will hold elections.

He made this comment at a press conference at BNP's central office in Nayapaltan of the capital on Thursday (August 12).

Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir demanded that the reforms decided by Dr. Muhammad Yunus should be implemented quickly and said that in order to establish the rule of the people, steps should be taken to transfer the power to the elected representatives of the people as soon as possible. Reforms should assess people's wants and needs.

About BNP's program, he said, BNP has taken a two-day program to institutionalize International Democracy Day on September 15. A rally will be held at Shaheed Minar on September 14 afternoon. There will be a rally in Nayapaltan on 15th. A democracy rally will be held in the divisional cities on 15th.
