In the end, Luis de la Fuente's Spain lifted the Euro 2024 title maing history. The Spanish are now the only team in the tournament to own four titles after beating England 2-1.

After 1966, the English could not win any global or continental title. After Euro 2020, England was very close to ending their title drought once again on the final stage today. But once again the dream was shattered. It was Harry Kane who ended a 58-year title drought and claimed their first title at the Euros.

On the other hand, Spain, who have been in great form since the beginning of the tournament, ended the season undefeated. No other team has this precedent in the history of Euro. La Fuente's disciples also entered the record book by defeating England to win the title. Spain is now the only team to have won four Euro titles.

The start of the final in Berlin today was a bit of a panacea. Neither team could create any major scoring chances in the first half, nor did they see a goal. Spain went on the attack in the 12th minute, but Nico failed to get a shot on target thanks to the English defenders. Just after that, Walker created a goal chance with a cross for the first time in the next minute. However, none of his teammates in the D-box got the ball at their feet. The first half ended with a goalless draw.

After the break, Spain entered the field with new energy. Within a couple of minutes, Yamal's increased ball skill was connected to the net by Williams. Spain advanced, their morale rising at the same time. They create several opportunities in a row.

England went on the counter-attack, going for goal several times before finally succeeding in the 73rd minute. The ball from the cross is deflected to the outside of the d-box. English defender Cole Palmer took a great shot by running from quite a distance without stopping the ball or rubbing the ground with his feet. The goalkeeper of Spain failed. 1-1 equal match!

Both teams then took turns to attack. But in the last part of the match, Spain shines. The English defenders were disorientated by one attack after another. Substitute Nama Warzabal scored the winning goal in the 86th minute from Cuquera's cross. In the last few minutes, England had to leave the field with the disappointment of not being able to equalize the goal.
