Kylian Mbappe's France and Cristiano Ronaldo's Portugal met today in the Euro battle for a ticket to the semi-finals. France had the last laugh in that fight.

After a goalless draw, the French won a penalty shootout 5–3. That's why the team went to the semi-finals of this year's Euro.

The first half of the match was quite hectic. French goalkeeper Mike Mignon made some good saves in the second half. Shots from Bruno Fernandez and Vitinia were Portugal's best chances of the match.

France, however, could not get that close. Kylian Mbappe is still suffering from a broken nose. Coach Didier Desham has to pick him up in extra time like today.

Without him, however, France had no problem in the penalty shootout. All 5 scored from penalties. Portugal's Joao Felix could not. His penalty miss ultimately decided the fate of the match. France went into the last four of the competition after winning 5-3.
