In the end, Luis de la Fuente's Spain lifted the Euro 2024 title maing history. The Spanish are now the only team in the tournament to own four titles after beating England 2-1.
After 1966, the English could not win any global or continental title. After Euro 2020, England was very close to ending their title drought once again on the final stage today. But once again the dream was shattered. It was Harry Kane who ended a 58-year title drought and claimed their first title at the Euros.
On the other hand, Spain, who have been in great form since the beginning of the tournament, ended the season undefeated. No other team has this precedent in the history of Euro. La Fuente's disciples also entered the record book by defeating England to win the title. Spain is now the only team to have won four Euro titles.
