What was once called a bottomless basket, which no one bothered about? Prime Minister's advisor on Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Tawfiq-E- Ilahi Chowdhury commented that Bangladesh is very important in geopolitics today.
He made this comment at a virtual discussion meeting and Doa-Mahfil on the occasion of the National Mourning Day organized by the Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources on Thursday (August 17).
He also said that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has brought a revolutionary change in the country. She taught me to think in a new way. It is a matter of honor for us as a nation. To continue this progress, everyone needs to be vigilant. Our promise should be that we will have no blunders. I will perform the duty of independent guard. At the same time, one should be alert so that conspiracy cannot disrupt the progress.
He said, Bangabandhu made the country independent, what power he had. Even a government official like me was compelled to respond to his call. Who killed him, the answer is who benefited. Khondkar Mostak and Ziaur Rahman were benefited. And the opponents of independence were benefited. This proves that those who did not want Bangladesh worked behind it. Their agenda will not be implemented if Bangabandhu is alive. Although there were some misguided army officers, foreign powers were involved.
State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid MP said that he Bangabandhu created the main foundation of the country's democracy by writing a well-written constitution in just 4 months. Many countries of the world recognized that constitution as ideal.
He said many people talk about democracy, but during the war of independence they helped Pakistanis with arms. For a long time after the assassination of Bangabandhu, history was distorted. They wanted to create a new history by misleading the nation. But their dream was not fulfilled.
President of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources, Wasika Ayesha Khan MP said, "Wherever we have gone in the world, the people of the country have cursed us." Their question was how you could brutally kill the Father of the Nation and his family members. The massacre of August 15 has surpassed the events of Karbala. Women and children were not killed in Karbala. The incident was not just the work of rogue army officers, it was a planned murder. Local and foreign powers were involved behind it.

Today's speakers prove that assumption wrong. It has been proved that Bangabandhu was a good administrator. The conscience of the Bengali nation was lost through the assassination of Bangabandhu. I want Bangabandhu's killers to be punished. At the same time those who were involved in the killing inside and outside the country should be identified. Many people ask me, you don't write. I tell them, write when angry. When you get angry, I say if you insult Bangabandhu.
