Moulvibazar: Our goal is to hold fair, beautiful and acceptable elections. We have no ambivalence in our hearts regarding this, said Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) AMM Nasir Uddin.

He said this while inaugurating a day-long workshop titled ‘Challenges in the Voter Registration Process and Ways to Overcome Challenges’ organized by the Election Commission Secretariat Capacity Building (CBTEP) Project on the Use of ICT in the Election Process at the Bengal Convention Hall Room in Moulvibazar on Thursday (January 9) at 11:30 am.

The CEC said, ‘We have not entered the field to support any party, group or individual. We have entered the field for a fair and beautiful election. Working on someone’s side will cause difficulties. But we will take a strong position. So, you will work properly in accordance with the law. If we work properly, we will give a fair election.’

Addressing the officials at various levels who participated in the day-long workshop, the Chief Election Commissioner said, ‘You will not work in a biased manner in the upcoming elections. If we did not work in a biased manner in the past, there would have been a problem with jobs. Not this time. So there is no reason to fear.’

He also said, ‘I want to give a fair and beautiful election to those who will be involved in the election process and with the cooperation of the countrymen and everyone.

Presided over by Sylhet Regional Election Officer Mohammad Nurul Alam, among others, Joint Secretary of the Election Commission Secretariat Md. Moin Uddin Khan, Additional Secretary KM Ali Newaz, Project Director Muhammad Mostafa Hasan, Deputy Commissioner of Moulvibazar Md. Israil Hossain, Moulvibazar District Election Officer Nasir Uddin Patwari and many others spoke.
