Former President Professor Dr. AQM Badruddoza Chowdhury is no more (Inna Lillahi wa Inna Ilaihi Rajiun).

He died at Uttara Mahila Medical College Hospital at around 3:30 AM on Friday (October 5).

He was 94 years old at the time of his death. He is survived by his wife, one son and two daughters and numerous relatives and well-wishers.

Earlier, his son Mahi B Chowdhury informed that he was put on life support at night.

Badruddoza Chowdhury was admitted to Uttara Mahila Medical College Hospital last Wednesday (October 2).

Badruddoza Chowdhury's daughter Dr. Shayla Chowdhury said that her father already had ischemic heart disease. He was diagnosed with a lung infection on Wednesday. In that condition, he was admitted to Uttara Mahila Medical College Hospital. There he was attended by the hospital's head of cardiologist Aparna Rahman, medicine specialist Maruf Bin Habib and medicine specialist Dr. Shayla Chowdhury.

Renowned doctor and veteran politician Badruddoza Chowdhury was born on October 11, 1930 in maternal grand father’s house (famous 'Munsef Bari') in Cumilla city. His father Advocate Kofil Uddin Chowdhury was Vice-President of Krishak Praja Party, General Secretary of United Front and a member of the then East Pakistan Provincial Cabinet. The founder of BNP, the Secretary General was elected President on November 14, 2001. Later on June 21, 2002, he resigned from the post of President.
