A schoolgirl was picked up by a police constable

A police constable named Sumon Hossain (26) picked up a Hindu schoolgirl in Jibannagar, Chuadanga. Last Monday (September 30) this incident happened at around 10 am in Raipur of upazila.

Sumon Hossain was working as a constable in Raipur police outpost of Jibannagar upazila. He is the son of Yunus Khan of Jagannathpur village of Jashore Sadar Upazila. In this incident, the schoolgirl's father gave a written complaint to Jibannagar police station.

The girl's father said that my daughter is a 10th class student of Raipur Secondary School. Sumon Hossain had an affair with my daughter while working as a police constable in Raipur police outpost. Sumon Hossain has a wife at home. Still told my daughter that she is not married.

He also said that 10-12 days before the incident, Suman was transferred to Chuadanga Police Line. From there he was again transferred to Zamzami police outpost in Alamdanga. A few days ago he was transferred to RAB. But he did not join the RAB and took my daughter off the street on Monday morning. After the incident we tried to settle the matter confidentially. But no trace of him was found at Police Constable Suman's house. As a result, after 5 days of the incident, I complained to Jibannagar police station.

In this regard, Raipur Union BNP leader Shariful Islam said that since the schoolgirl is a minor, the family tried to settle the matter secretly. But police constable Sumon Hossain and the schoolgirl's family were forced to file a case as no trace of the schoolgirl was found.

Officer-in-charge (OC) of Jibannagar police station SM Javeed Hasan confirmed the truth of the incident and said that after the incident, the schoolgirl's family searched for a few days but could not find them. Finally, the victim's father filed a written complaint at the police station. Legal action will be taken in consultation with senior officials.
