The court has summoned Shakib Al Hasan, one of the country's leading cricketers and former MP from Magura-1 constituency, to appear in court in a cheque dishonor case.
The other accused in the case are Agro Farm Limited MD Gazi Shahgir Hossain, the company's director Imdadul Haque and Malaika Begum.
The matter was learned from court sources on Wednesday (December 18).
According to sources, Shahibur Rahman filed the case on behalf of IFIC Bank on December 15. The case was filed after two checks worth about Tk. 4.15 crore were dishonored.
The court of Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Mahbubul Haque of Dhaka issued the summons on that day. They have been ordered to appear in court on January 18.

The case states that the Agro Farm owned by Shakib took a loan from IFIC Bank for business purposes. The company issued two checks in favor of the bank against this. When the bank tried to withdraw the money on the specified date, it was dishonored because there was not enough money.
