Bangladesh wins Test in West Indies after 15 years, draws series

After 15 years, Bangladesh was able to defeat them again on West Indies soil. In 2009, Bangladesh won both Tests during their tour of West Indies. It was a second-tier West Indies team. In between, Bangladesh went to the Caribbean and was whitewashed in Tests three more times. After 15 years, that streak ended. Bangladesh won the second Test of the series at Sabina Park in Kingston with a big win of 101 runs. The series ended in a 1-1 draw.

After a big loss in the first Test, Mehedi Miraj, who was given the lead, won the toss and batted in the second and final Test in order to turn around. His team suffered a batting disaster. They were all out for just 164 runs. Opener Sadman Islam scored the highest score of 64 runs for the team.

In reply, young fast pacer Nahid Rana bowled out the West Indies for 146 runs with excellent bowling. He took 5 wickets in an innings for the first time in his career. Bangladesh took a lead of 18 runs from the first innings.

Bangladesh scored 268 runs in the second innings thanks to Zaker Ali's determination. Zaker played an innings of 91 runs with one end. In addition, Shadman 46 and Miraj added 42 runs. Bangladesh set the hosts a target of 287 runs to win.
