Actress Anjana Rahman passes away

National Film Award-winning actress Anjana Rahman has passed away (Inna lillahi wa inna ilaihi rajiun).

She died on Saturday (January 4) while undergoing treatment at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU).

President of the Artists' Association Shahid Hasan Misha (Misha Sawdagar) confirmed her death.

Anjana Rahman was admitted to a private hospital in the capital in an unconscious state for 10 consecutive days. She was admitted to the CCU for those few days. But there was no improvement as expected. Rather, her condition deteriorated. So she was admitted to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) on Wednesday (January 1) night.

It is known that Anjana had been ill for 15 days. Initially, she had a fever. Her whole body would shake and the fever would come. At one point, she was not working even after taking medicine. Finally, it was found that an infection had been detected in her blood. Then, on the advice of a doctor, she was quickly admitted to the hospital.

Incidentally, heroine Anjana was a well-known face in Bangladeshi films as well as in the international arena. From a dancer to a heroine, she is also the only domestic film actress to have acted in the most joint productions and foreign films.

Starting with 'Dassiu Bonhoor' after this film in 1976, she worked continuously. So far, she has acted in more than three hundred films. She has also received the National Film Award twice for her performances in 'Parineeta' and 'Gangchil'.
