Bangladesh Sugar and Food Industries Corporation (BSFIC) had fixed the maximum retail price of government mill sugar at Tk. 160 per kg before Ramadan increasing by Tk. 20 per kg. However, thinking about the suffering of the people, the government withdrew from the decision to increase the price of sugar after about six hours.

Zakia Sultana, senior secretary of the Ministry of Industry, gave this information on Thursday (February 22) night.
