New platform under the style of National Citizen Committee' made its debut
A new platform 'National Citizen Committee' made its debut under the leadership of the anti-discrimination student movement.
The 55-member committee made its official debut at the central Shaheed Minar on Sunday (September 8) afternoon.
Muhammad Naseeruddin Patwari has been made as the convener of the National Citizens Committee, Akhtar Hossain, the former Secretary of Social Services of DUCSU and the convener of the Ganatantrik Chattra Shakti has been made as the member secretary. Samantha Sharmin has been announced as the spokesperson.
A 55-member National Citizens' Committee has been launched to succeed in the ongoing struggle for the abolition of the fascist regime and a new political settlement.
Earlier, in a circular on Saturday night, it was informed that Sheikh Hasina's government fell due to the participation of people from all walks of life led by the anti-discrimination student movement and the sacrifice of thousands of dead and injured. In its second phase, they want to achieve the goal of a new political settlement. This committee will exchange views with various political parties and socio-cultural initiatives on the drafting of a new democratic constitution. Later they want to organize the people of the country accordingly.
After the central committee, there will be 64 districts, 12 metropolitan and then police station level committees. Meanwhile, the divisional and district level tour of the anti-discrimination student movement is starting from today. As part of this, there is a view exchange meeting in Munshiganj of Dhaka Division.
