Dhaka: All the families of the martyrs killed in mass upsurge will be rehabilitated, said the Chief Adviser Dr. Muhammad Yunus.
He said, I have told before, I am telling again, the families of all the martyrs will be rehabilitated killed in the mass uprising. The government will bear the entire cost of treatment of all the injured student workers. A comprehensive list has been prepared under the leadership of the Ministry of Health for the long-term and costly treatment of the injured and the care of the families of the martyrs. This list will be updated as new information is received.
The Chief Adviser said these things in his address to the nation on the occasion of the one month anniversary of the Interim government on Wednesday (September 11).
At the beginning of the speech Dr. Yunus said, I pay deep respect to all the martyrs who were killed in the uprising of students-workers-people against fascism in the month of July-August. I also remember those who stood like the Himalayas in front of the deadly weapons of the fascist forces, embraced death, were wounded, crippled, lost their eyesight in protest against injustice. Remembering those heroes who stood up with a single demand against lies, looting, tyranny. Gratefully remembering your siblings, your children who participated in this revolution.
The Chief Adviser said that the government has taken the initiative to establish a foundation called "July Genocide Memorial Foundation" to preserve the memory of the martyrs of this mass uprising. Now that foundation is made. This foundation is taking full responsibility of all martyr families and their families along with best treatment of injured. We invite all people of the country and Bangladeshis living abroad to donate to this foundation
