Chattogram University campus had a monopoly of Chhatra League. The halls were also under their control. During this time, other student organizations could not organize any program in the campus. If someone from different student organization goes to the campus, they have to face the BCL’s cannon. However, after the fall of the Awami League government on August 5, that situation changed. After noon that day, BCL leaders and activists in the hall ran away. After that, their various 'infamies' are coming forward.

In the meantime, a list of 13 leaders and activists including BCL's latest committee president Rezaul Haque Rubel, general secretary Iqbal Hossain Tipu, who ate 'fao' from various food shops on campus has been spread on social media Facebook. There is a lot of discussion and criticism about this matter. However, the president of the university branch student party. Alauddin Mohsin said, neither he nor any of his leaders and activists will ever eat fao, nor will they indulge it.

He said this while visiting Barta24.com's Chattogram office on Saturday (September 14) afternoon. At that time, Sajjad Hossain Hriday, the organizing secretary of the Chhatra Dal of this branch, was with him.

Alauddin Mohsin said, last 17 years we have eaten one meal and not another meal. During this time we have gone through many difficult times, we have had to accept various sacrifices. From that place we now have a taste of new freedom. In new Bangladesh, none of our leaders and activists will join any unpleasant and unorganized activities like eating fao, I promise. So I hope none of us will be in the headlines like the BCL.

After the change in the political scenario, the demand of banning the partisan student-teacher politics in the campus is coming from the side of the common students. However, Alauddin Mohsin feels a little hurt by such a claim. He said, in the last 17 years, many of us were attacked by BCL leaders and activists and could not pass the exam. Chhatra League leaders and activists after torturing many of us instead handed them over to the police. In that case, the demand of banning politics on campus will be a bit difficult for us, naturally because we also fought against fascism for the last 17 years. We gave up our studies, career, family - everything. Even in the latest student movement, we were in the field from the beginning. Many of our organization gave their lives. At that place today, when there is talk of keeping student organizations out of the campus, we are a little saddened. The work of student organizations on campus is mainly to speak for the rights of students. The Chhatra League deviated from that place and on the contrary always took a stand against the students. Why should we take responsibility for the crime of Chhatra League?

During the Awami League government, other student organizations could not implement any program in the campus. Chhatra Dal and other organizations had to carry out their programs secretly. Many times, fearing police-Chatra league attacks, they had to march early in the morning and quickly move away. However, the Chhatra Dal president wants to be careful that no other organization gets the same situation that they themselves have been subjected to in the past.

Alauddin Mohsin said, we believe in co-existence. My dream is that the campus is safe for all, students get responsibility according to their merit in the hall-faculty. We all need to be careful that no one can take advantage of political banners.

As the new Vice-Chancellor of the University, the former professor of the political science department of the university Dr. Muhammad Yahya Akhtar's name has been doing the rounds, though not yet announced. But  Chhatra Dal will welcome Dr. Muhammad Yahya Akhtar if he is appointed.

Alauddin Mohsin said, we have never received parental behavior from those who were in charge of the university in the last 17 years. We have been harassed in different ways at different times but failed to get their cooperation despite repeated communication. In that new Bangladesh, we hope and believe that whoever will take over the responsibility of the university will erase everything from the past and present a beautiful and safe campus.

After the change of political party, there have been allegations of encroachment of various shops in the campus under the identity of Chhatra Dal-BNP. However, Alauddin Mohsin said that the Chhatra Dal will not give concessions if something like this happens. Contact us with evidence in such cases and we will take immediate action against those involved.
