Notification issued on formation 9-member constitution reform commission
The Cabinet Division has issued a notification setting up a 9-member Constitution Reform Commission.
This information was given in the notification signed by Cabinet Secretary Md. Mahbub Hossain on Monday (October 7).
It is stated in the notification that the Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh has established a 'Constitution Reform Commission' with the approval of the Chief Adviser of the Interim Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh to review and evaluate the existing constitution of the country for the purpose of establishing a representative and effective democracy and empowering the people and prepare a report with the necessary recommendations for the purpose of reforming the constitution.
The members of the commission are:
Political Scientist and Writer Professor Ali Riaz (Head of the Commission), Professor Sumaiya Khair of Dhaka University Law Department (Member), Bar-at-Law Imran Siddiqui (Member), Dhaka University Law Department Professor Muhammad Ikramul Haque (Member), Bangladesh Supreme Court Advocate Dr. Sharif Bhuiyan (Member), Bar-at-Law M. Moeen Alam Ferozi (Member), Writer Feroz Ahmed (Member), Writer and Human Rights Activist Md. Mustain Billah (member), student representative. Mahfuz Alam (Member).
