Banks will be closed on Thursday

The government has declared a general holiday across the country on Thursday (October 10) on the occasion of Sharadiya Durgotsava, the biggest festival of Hindus. All scheduled banks will be closed on this day.

Bangladesh Bank's Department of Offsite Supervision issued instructions on Tuesday (October 8).

However, banks will be kept open in seaport, landport and airport areas under special arrangements, the central bank said.

It is said that the government has declared a national holiday on Thursday. In this context, all scheduled banks operating in the country will be closed on that day. However, branches and sub-branches of banks located in sea, land and airport areas will remain open under special arrangements.
