6 coaches of Panchagarh Express derailed at Kamalapur

The Panchagarh-bound intercity train Panchagarh Express (793) derailed while leaving the Dhaka Railway Station area. In this incident, 6 coaches of the train fell off the track. As a result, passengers waiting at various stations suffered this midnight.

The accident occurred at around 12:15 am while leaving the Dhaka Railway Station on Friday (October 25). Although the train was scheduled to leave at 11:30 pm on October 24, no official comment was received from Bangladesh Railways about the accident at midnight.

Eyewitnesses said that the train left the Dhaka Railway Station about half an hour late than the usual time. Within 2 minutes of crossing the platform, a jolt was felt and the train was stopped. Later, it was seen that a total of 6 coaches of the train were derailed. It was seen that the track had broken. Later, the wheels fell down. No one was injured as the speed of the train was low.
