The temperature in Panchagarh, the northernmost district of the country, is lowering day by day due to the cold winds from the Himalayas. As a result, the intensity of the cold is increasing day by day.

On Saturday (November 30), the lowest temperature was recorded at the Tentulia Meteorological Observatory of the district at 6 am. This is the lowest temperature record in the district this season.

Earlier, the lowest temperature was recorded at 9 am on Friday at 11.3 degrees Celsius.

Meanwhile, the Meteorological Office said that due to the proximity of the Himalayas to this district, the intensity of the cold is higher every year in this district. Compared to other districts, winter arrives earlier and lasts longer and leaves later. However, it has been reported that the temperature is likely to decrease further in the next two to three weeks.

On the ground, it can be seen that the common people have started taking shelter in warm clothes as the intensity of the cold is increasing day by day. The surroundings are covered in thick fog from evening to morning. Dewdrops are falling, and a cold wind is blowing. Hand-made pitha puli shops are being set up in various markets.

Due to the change in weather, the number of patients has also increased in the four upazila health complexes of the district, including Panchagarh Adhunik Sadar Hospital.
