The fire at the Loveline restaurant in Uttara, the capital, was brought under control after about 3.5 hours. The fire was brought under control with the efforts of 12 units of the fire service.

24 Rohingyas have been arrested from the Parki Beach area of Anwara, Chattagram, while fleeing from Bhasanchar in Noakhali to Cox's Bazar.

On Thursday (December 19) morning, locals detained them and handed them over to the Coast Guard.

The detainees include 11 children and teenagers, 8 women and 5 men. The Coast Guard has confirmed that they are members of three families.

Sources said that during low tide and winter season, the narrow channel between Sandwip and Bhasanchar almost dries up, which makes the escape easier. In addition, some local fishermen and boatmen help them escape in exchange for money.
