Chief Adviser inaugurates 29th trade fair

The 29th edition of Dhaka International Trade Fair was inaugurated by Chief Adviser to the interim government Dr. Muhammad Yunus.

He announced the inauguration of the fair at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Exhibition Center (BCFC) in Purbachal on Wednesday (January 1) morning.

According to Export Promotion Bureau (EPB), this year's trade fair will feature 362 stalls and pavilions, including 11 organizations from 7 countries. The July-August Uprising will be given priority in July Chattar, Chhatris Chattar and Tarunya Pavilion. There are different arrangements at the entrance as there is an e-ticket system.

For the first time, stall or pavilion spaces of different categories have been allocated online. In addition, for the convenience of buyers and visitors to the fair, Uber service is being added at a special discount along with the BRTC's dedicated bus service.

Initiatives have been taken to organize seminars based on potential sectors or products at the fair this year. There will be a separate sourcing corner, electronics and furniture zones for the convenience of foreign entrepreneurs or organizations. A technology corner and a seating corner for senior citizens have been created for the convenience of age-based visitors. There will also be a children's park at the fair for the pure entertainment of children.

In addition, July Square and Chhatris Chattar have been created at the fair to honor the sacrifices of students and the public in the student movement against discrimination. Along with this, a Youth Pavilion has been created to motivate the country's young people in export trade.

It is worth noting that the fair will run from 10 am to 9 pm throughout the month. And it will run until 10 pm on weekends.
