Nobody could question January 7 election: Sheikh Hasina

Awami League President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina commented that no one could question the 12th Jatiya Sangsad(JS) election.

The Prime Minister said, I opened the election so that the election would not be questioned. No one could question this election. To those who are calling the election questionable, the question is what are the reasons why there was no free and fair election?

She said that the people of this country took up arms and fought in response to the call of the Father of the Nation. Power was not in the hands of the people for 21 years after the assassination of the Father of the Nation. Power was confined in the cantonment. People had no rights. Awami League returned the right to vote.

Awami League president said, this time it has done a good job. What is it - earlier BNP secretly set fire to cars, trains, everywhere. This time they publicly took pictures again. Their guru has told them from London that the picture should be sent. Being told has become a benefit. The fire they are setting, the pictures and the evidence is available, which collects the areas where these incidents took place. For these cases to proceed properly and to receive the punishment, their leader has arranged that punishment. Who will blame! Photographed and sent to please the leader. Now in the digital system it is not difficult to send, collect anyway. That's how the evidence came.

Pointing out that the cases of BNP torture are still pending after the 2001 elections, she said, therefore, the cases should be done properly, witnesses should be given and these perpetrators should be punished properly, they should not be set on fire again in the future and should not have the courage to waste state resources. We have to make arrangements.

Calling on everyone to stand against militancy and corruption, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said that the money of corruption does not serve any good purpose. Rather, their children will be in danger. Attention should be paid to prevent this bad name from happening. Remember one thing, you participated in the election, you got some votes. Some won, some didn't. But got some votes! People's trust and faith should not be lost, we have to work keeping that in mind and we will win the hearts of the people and move the country forward in the progress of development by continuing the democratic process. We must keep that in mind so that we do not fall behind. I want you to work that way!

The office-secretary of the party Biplab Barua read out the condolence proposal at the special extended meeting. The meeting was moderated by the publicity and publication secretary of the party Dr. Abdus Sobhan Golap.
