Tyrant has fled but accomplices are still hiding: Tarique Rahman
BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman said that BNP is not alone, all political parties and people of all classes and professions have come together to say goodbye to tyranny. Just as everyone united to say goodbye to tyranny, similarly, everyone will have to work together to rebuild the country. Tyrant has fled this country. However, the ghosts of tyrant are still hiding in every nook and corner of the country. They are trying to hatch various conspiracies.
He said these things at a BNP program on Monday (December 30) afternoon at the Dubachuri Dimbukhi Dakhil Madrasa ground in Laxmichap, Sadar Upazila, Nilphamari District. At that time, Tarique Rahman, the main sponsor of 'Amra BNP Paribar', handed over the keys through a video conference of a newly built house to the family of Golam Rabbani, the organizing secretary of Laxmichap Union BNP in Nilphamari Sadar, who was killed in the crossfire by RAB.
Tarique Rahman said, we want to build a peaceful Bangladesh. The Golam Rabbanis wanted to say these words, but the dictatorship of that day did not let the Golam Rabbanis speak, did not want to listen. Because of this, they have killed thousands of Golam Rabbanis, tortured lakhs of families. In the last 16 years, the homes and businesses of many BNP leaders and activists have been demolished. Many colleagues like the BNP leader Golam Rabbanis of Nilphamari have been killed by the escaped dictatorship. More than five hundred of our leaders and activists were killed in the July-August movement. We will not respond to this torture like them. We will not become inferior because they are inferior. We will respond to all torture by making the 31-point demands a success.
The acting chairman of BNP said, there may be differences between the party and the people. But we have to be careful so that those differences do not reach a level where the country and the people of the country will be harmed. If Bangladesh has to be taken to the future, then Bangladesh must be brought back into the democratic system. Be it the union council elections, the pourashava elections, the parliamentary elections, the mosque committee elections, or the elections of any institution, Bangladesh must be brought back into the democratic process in all areas. Then competent leadership will emerge from among us. Competent people will emerge.
Addressing the leaders and activists, he said that everyone must unite and prepare for that. Our big task now is to protect the trust and hope of the people. As a BNP worker, you have to maintain the respect that you receive from the people. He said that the response to the oppression against us should not be through violence, but through the implementation of the 31 points. We have to establish their democratic rights by maintaining the trust of the people.
Tarique Rahman said that the capital of a political party is the trust, faith, and love of the people. If you consider anything else as capital, focus on anything else, then today, tomorrow, and the day after tomorrow everything will be destroyed for you. For 16 years, the Awami League has destroyed everything. It remained in power by force. It took away people's rights. Have they been able to retain power today? They have not. So you will work to retain the trust of the people.
