Genocide case against Sheikh Hasina in International Crimes Tribunal

Former prime minister and Awami League president Sheikh Hasina has been charged with crimes against humanity and genocide against 9 people.

On Wednesday (August 14) at noon, Supreme Court lawyer Gazi MH Tanim filed a complaint in this regard with the investigation agency of the International Crimes Tribunal.

The other accused are former Road Transport and Bridges Minister and Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader, former Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, former Posts and Telecommunications Minister Junaid Ahmed Palak, former Information Minister Muhammad Ali Arafat, former IGP Chowdhury Abdullah Al Mamun, former DMP Commissioner Habibur Rahman. And former DB chief Haroon Or Rashid.

He filed this complaint on behalf of Bulbul Kabir, the father of Alif Ahmed Siam, the ninth grader who was shot in Savar on August 5. Siam, who was shot, died under treatment on August 7.

Earlier, a case was filed against 24 people including former prime minister and Awami League president Sheikh Hasina for allegedly shooting and killing Faizul Islam Rajon (18), a class 12 student of Dhaka Model Degree College under Kafrul police station in the capital.

Rajan's brother Rajib (32) filed the case in Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Ahmed Humayun Kabir's court. The court accepted the statement of the plaintiff and directed Kafrul Thana to take it as evidence.

This is the fourth case against Sheikh Hasina after she left the country resigning from the post of Prime Minister on August 5 due to the student uprising.
