Bodies of mother-daughter recovered from toilet in Rohingya camp

Police have recovered the bodies of two women from inside a toilet in the Rohingya refugee camp in Ukhia, Cox's Bazar. The incident took place in F-75 block of Camp No. 3 of the refugee camp.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Ukhia Police Station Arif Hasan said that the deaths may have occurred on Tuesday (January 14) morning.

The deceased are Rashid Ahmed's wife Momtaz Begum (55) and Subaida Begum (18). They are related to each other.

OC Arif Hasan said that the work of preparing the post-mortem report is still underway. Therefore, it is not possible to speculate whether it was suicide or murder for now.

Commander (Additional DIG) of Armed Police Battalion-APBN 14, Mohammad Siraj Amin, said that the investigation is still ongoing. The bodies have been recovered and sent to the Cox's Bazar Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.
