Naryanganj: The fire in the masala patti of Kalir Bazar in Narayanganj city has finally been brought under control.

On Sunday (06 October) at 11:30 p.m., the fire broke out in the number one street of the market. At least 30 shops were gutted in the fire. On receiving the information, five units of two fire service stations brought the fire under control in one and a half hours.

Fakharuddin, Deputy Assistant Director of Narayanganj Fire Service and Civil Defense, said that the first fire broke out in a spice shop in the first lane of the market. Then the fire spread to at least 30 shops, including grocery shops, egg shops, plastic shops and hardware shops.

At that time, hundreds of people including residents of nearby buildings came out on the streets. On receiving the news, five units of Mandalpara and Hajiganj stations of fire service started extinguishing the fire. After an hour and a half of their efforts, the fire was brought under control at 1 am. No casualties were reported in the fire. However, a fire service worker was injured while trying to extinguish the fire. Apart from this, the official also said that the origin of the fire, how many shops were on fire and the amount of damage will be known after the investigation.

Chattogram: The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has arrested two more people in connection with the beating to death of a young man named Shahadat Hossain, when few youths did this nefarious at dancing and singing the song 'Madhu Hoi Hoi Anre Bish Khawaila' at Number Two Gate area of Chattogram city.

They were arrested from Garibullah Shah Mazar and Jamtala area of Khulshi in the city on Sunday (October 6) around 8:30 pm.

The two arrested are Mehedi Hasan Sagar (28), son of SM Dulal of Khulshi's Dobarpar area, and Noor Islam's son Md. Shanta (28).

RAB-7 Senior Assistant Director (Mass media) Sharif-ul-Alam confirmed the matter at night. He said that during the interrogation of the accused, they admitted to be involved in the murder of the victim Shahadat Hossain. Both of them have been handed over to Panchlaish police station for further legal action.

Earlier, on September 23, the police arrested three people involved in the incident separately from different areas of the city in a four-hour operation. They are, "Chattogram Student Janata Traffic Group" WhatsApp group admin Farhad Ahmed Chowdhury Prakash Jewell (42), Md. Salman (16) and Anisur Rahman Ifat (19). Among them, only Ifat is a student.

The victim of the massacre Shahadat Hossain is the son of deceased Mohammad Haroon of Nadna village, Panchbaria union, Sonaimuri police station, Noakhali district. He lived with his wife Sharmin Akhter in Boiler Colony of BRTC area of Kotwali police station in the city.

At that time, additional deputy commissioner of the city police, Kazi Md. Tarek Aziz said that the incident took place on August 13. After the incident, they left the dead body of the victim Shahadat in Pravartak Mor area. A day later on August 14, the police found the body and recovered it. On the previous day, Shahadat Hossain was beaten several times by singing songs at number two gate area. At one point he became dull. After that the father of the victim became the plaintiff and filed a murder case with the police station accusing unknown persons.

Information of 6 cases against the killing of the victim has been found in Kotwali police station of the city. Out of these, four arms cases, one robbery preparation case and one theft case.

Incidentally, a video spread on social media from last September 21. Where it can be seen, some young people are singing the regional song of Chattogram 'Madhu Hoi Hoi Anre Bish Khawaila'. Some were playing the flute with their mouths, some were cheering. Right in the middle of them Shahadat in blue T-shirt and jeans is languidly swaying. His hands were tied to steel pipes. He was brutally and mercilessly beaten to death while singing.

Later on, it was found that the video is from the gate number two area of the city. His body was recovered by the police from the road in front of a private hospital on August 14, near the city's Pravartak intersection. Then on August 15, Shahadat's father Mohammad Haroon filed a murder case at Panchlaish police station accusing unknown persons.

Dhaka: Former Environment, Forest and Climate Change Minister Saber Hossain Chowdhury has been arrested by the Detective Police (DB).

He was arrested from the Gulshan area of the capital on Sunday (October 6) afternoon.

DMP's Media and Public Relations Department Deputy Police Commissioner (DC) Muhammad Talebur Rahman confirmed this information.

He said that this afternoon a team of DB conducted a raid at the residence of former minister Saber Hossain Chowdhury in Gulshan. He was later arrested in the operation. Several cases have been filed against this arrested former minister. He is now in the DB office.

Lalmonirhat: The government has transferred Lalmonirhat District Administration Executive Magistrate Tapashi Tabassum Urmi as Officer on Special Duty (OSD) to the Ministry of Public Administration for posting controversial posts on Facebook about Chif Adviser Dr. Muhammad Yunus.

Deputy Commissioner HM Rakib Haider confirmed the matter on Sunday (October 6) night.

He said that the instructions have not yet been received. Earlier on Sunday evening, this information was known in a notification signed by Nilufa Yasmin, Senior Assistant Secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration.

Earlier Executive Magistrate Tapashi Tabassum Urmi wrote on Facebook, “The Chief Adviser of the constitutionally baseless Interim government said the reset button has been pushed. The past is erased. He deleted all the past history of the country by clicking the reset button. So easy! The countdown has begun for you, sir.”

Later, when asked about the status, Urmi said on the phone, "I have posted, it is enough." Only me did, may be due to various reasons. Later she said, I do not want to comment on this matter.

Meanwhile, it was seen that Tapashi Tabassum Urmi’s Facebook post and gave several statuses on the side of the ousted government in the mass uprising of the students. Also, she has given several statuses with a strong stand for Awami League.

Lalmonirhat Deputy Commissioner HM Raqib Haider said that she has been transferred to the Public Administration Ministry and has already made her (OSD) in this incident. The Ministry will take a decision on that.
