PSC Chairman Sohrab Hossain resigns

Public Service Commission (PSC) chairman Sohrab Hossain is resigning. He submitted his resignation to the PSC secretary on Tuesday (October 8) afternoon.

A PSC official confirmed this to the media.

Sarjis Alam, one of the coordinators of the anti-discrimination student movement, spoke about PSC reform last Saturday. He said, within this week, the PSC will be reformed and the job aspirants will have to start the job tests. The young generation who are spearheading this revolution must not forget their priorities.

On September 16, 2020, he was appointed as the chairman of Bangladesh Public Service Commission (PSC). Sohrab Hossain was a former senior secretary to the government.

BCS administration cadre 1984 batch officer Md. Sohrab Hossain has held important positions in the government including the Secretary of the Ministry of Education.

He held many important duties including Secretary of Ministry of Education, Rector of BCS Administration Academy.

He obtained Bachelor's (Honours) and Master's degree in Bengali Language and Literature from Dhaka University. Since his student life, he has been involved in various social, cultural and voluntary organizations. He was a member of the Dhaka University Cultural Team and Natya Chakra. He is a lifetime member of Bangla Academy.
